Because I often
Often always carried you
In my heart
I thought it fitting
To tattoo a treasured memory
Of you there
As I recalled the time
When our hearts rhymed
Simultaneously, as one
And to decipher between the two
Was something that could not be done
As this connection, this friendship
This thing we had, went deep
Soul deep, two feathers from one dove
So I had you tattooed
Tattooed on the face of my heart
They say a heart never forgets
The hand that touched them
The smile that lit them up inside out
Or the fellow heart they at one time
Shared a unique connection with
But knows, remembers and cherishes
Even beyond the broken bounds of that link
Now though distance has untwined
That instant, interlaced beating pattern of our hearts
It has not weathered, that deep
Soul deep connection of our sisterhood
Which forever dwells, right beneath
The surface of our treasured hearts
So I guess that’s why
My heart still beats that all familiar song
That I had tattooed
Tattooed on the face of my heart
As therein lies the secret, the secret
Of it all
I Carry you Dear one
I Carry you in my heart
And my someone special
And to all those who knows
What it is to carry that special
Someone in your heart
