What would you do if I told you, you are my heartbeat
And that guy that does not have to compete
Would you believe me? Take me in your arms
And tenderly make love to me
Or would you play, push me away then say
You never loved me anyway
What would you do if I showed up at your door step
And all I could say was I love you
Would you turn me away? Give me a hug then .
Let me down gently
Or love me crazy whispering those words
Over and over again
What would you do if I said I wanted you to
Make love to me
Love me any, which way as long as it was love
And not jus sex
Would you just take what I freely give?
Or give as good as you got
What would you say if I told you that every thought
Or word of you was tattooed on my heart
Like invisible ink on clear paper
Always there even if hidden
Would you show scepticism, make excuses
Or be awed by how I truly felt
What would you say if I told you that loving you
In secret is like a wound that
To the untrained eye looks healed
But to a professional or fellow sufferer
Never stops bleeding
Even if only on the inside
Would you try to stop the flow or suddenly
Break out in hive
What would you say if I said that many nights
I've cried myself to sleep
Because you unknowingly hurt me or
Just because I wish you were there
Would you kiss the long dried tears away,
Make it better
Or say you're not responsible since you did not know
What would you say if I asked you to kiss me
Kiss me like I have never been kissed before
Just so I’d have a memory
Would you just give me that memory?
Or also make a promise that there will always be
More to come after that present one
I find myself often wondering, pondering
These questions
At the most inconvenient of times
Wanting to know what would you say or do
If I told you………….
